School Translations was founded by Ryan Boothe. Ryan had been working as a full time Spanish translator/interpreter for the Modesto City Schools school district in Modesto, California when he decided to go back to school to pursue a Bachelors degree in Spanish/English translation. While going to college he continued to work as an independent translator for the same school district. He soon realized that he was costing Modesto City Schools half as much money because they were hiring him as an independent translator who was paid per word instead of receiving a monthly salary with benefits. Ryan also realized that most of the translations that were being done for the schools he came in contact with were of a very poor quality. Putting together a team of talented translators, Ryan formed School Translations in order to give every school district the opportunity to accurately communicate with their students' parents without going over budget.

Parents should know what is expected of their children and how they can be a part of what goes on at their childrens' school.

In many cases your bilingual staff might be able to speak two languages but not know how to translate them. As languages are learned independantly, often an idea will exist in one language but not necessarily in the other. Our translators know the correct concepts and terminology to effectively communicate what is going on at school and particularly how the students are doing in class.

We only do schools.

We know that schools are busy places. After worrying about important issues like test scores, student behavior, building renovations, sick kids and campus security the last thing schools want is to worry about when a letter being sent home to parents will be ready in Spanish. We will run at your pace and make sure that nothing is lost in translation. While we do prefer to receive documents to be translated as early as possible, we are always flexible and ready to help schools get things done in a quick and efficient manner.

We charge inexpensive rates but produce high quality translations, we don't take days off or call in sick, we don't ask for benefits and if there is no work for us to do you don't pay us!
