How Much Do Translations Cost?
That's usually the question on everyone's mind. Our rates are some of the
lowest in the industry. We simply use the MS Word spell checker to count the
words in English and then charge per word translated. If you'd like an exact
quote feel free to send
us an e-mail stating who you are, what language you need and how many
words are in the document. We do our best to keep schools within their budgets!

How Do We Receive the Translations?
We prefer to do everything electronically. This way we can keep the same format
as the original English. The way things typically work best is by having a
designated person in each school district, or school site, who handles the
translation requests. The designee can prioritize and screen documents for
us before e-mailing them to be translated. We can receive documents in MS
Word, Notepad, Excel, Power Point, Publisher or Access formatting. After translating
the document we send it back to the person who needed it and notify the designee
who sent it to us.

Can We Keep the Formatting of the Original Document?
Yes! This is one of the reasons why we try to do everything electronically.
Although the lengths of the words vary in different languages (for example:
Spanish translations usually turn out to be about 15% longer than English
originals) we can still keep the documents looking very similar to the original
English.

How Can We Be Sure That Your Translations Are Accurate?
All of our translators have lived in the country that speaks their second
language for a number of years and are quite proficient in both languages.
We will be happy to do a free trial translation for you in Spanish. All bragging
aside, we are very good translators and will be happy to show you. If you
are a school administrator click
here to contact us and tell us what you need. We will translate any document,
with 500 words or less, to prove how good we are and get it back to you within
24 hours for free.

Are the Documents Kept Confidential?
Absolutely! Much of the work that we do is confidential (notes to parents,
psycho-educational reports etc.) and so we understand how to deal with such
sensitive documents. We have a place on our website where sensitive documents
can be uploaded to and to which only our translation coordinator has access.
In our typical contract we agree to never release our translations to a third
party. All of the information you send to us goes right back to you and to
no one else.

How Long Will We Have to Wait for a Translation?
It depends on the length and the language. Documents that are 500 words or
less can be translated and returned within 24 hours if need be. If the document
is long or the language is difficult (i.e. obscure medical or legal or technical
terminology) then it may take us a little longer. We feel that part of our
job is to be accommodating and will work hard to make sure things are always
returned well before they are needed.
